Would you like to Sponsor a Commemorative Tree in order to remember
someone or something special?
As
you may know, St Sadwrn’s Church is planning the process of felling
some 40 large Leylandi Trees in the churchyard and has exciting plans
for replacing them with some 350 British Copper Beech saplings over
the coming year. Replanting native British tree species is an
important part of our conservation work in the village, and will
enrich our environment.
We
are offering everybody in Henllan the chance to sponsor a
Commemorative “Tree of Life” for the nominal cost of just £5 per
sapling.
You may wish to plant a tree in memory of a loved one, to celebrate an
important event or date such as a birth, christening, marriage or
anniversary. If you wish to sponsor more than one tree you may do so,
or perhaps you might wish to sponsor one tree in the name of a family,
community group or association. It is entirely up to you, and your
sponsorship will be recorded and blessed in the Tree of Life
Commemoration Book which will be kept and updated at Saint
Sadwrn’s Church.
In
time, all our saplings will become one beautiful merged hedgerow,
symbolising our unity and life as a village, so of course it will not
be possible for us to label each tree in its exact location. The
Commemorative Book may be filled with any special details or comments
by sponsors, in English or in Welsh, and will be available to view
when you visit St Sadwrn’s. We hope the hedgerow will be something we
can all look at and enjoy for many generations to come.
As
we will have a limited number of trees to plant, we will allocate them
on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
Please note this is not just a Church Project, it is open to US ALL.
